So you are thinking about changing over to solar power, there are many things that you should consider before making that decision. The first thing is that you should consider is the cost. You may save money in the long run but the upfront money you have to lay out to have the solar panels installed is quite substantial.
You have to really consider if that is the road you want to go, will that money set you back or just put you in deeper and deeper.
The second thing that you must consider is the contractor, you don’t want anyone to just come in and install the panels. You want to make sure that a reputable company does them. Do your research, ask around and check with the Better Business Bureau to see if they have any complaints against them. Also, check Consumer Affairs to make sure that they have license to install the panels. If they don’t, don’t use them.
Solar power depends on just that, solar power; make sure that you get enough direct sunlight on your home to be able to activate the solar panels. On a cloudy or rainy day you aren’t going to get the same amount of power as you would on a bright sunny day. That is something major to consider. Just think about the decision long and hard before going out and spending the money on a rainy day literally.
