There are four main things that you need to know when purchasing a camera phone. You want to make sure the phone is versatile, that there is a cost in taking pictures, picture taking for business purposes will come out perfect and professional and lastly, the main use of the phone is that is a phone.

Let’s begin with versatility; you want a camera phone that can do more than one function. When you take a picture from a digital camera, it can be limited to that one function. In order to see the pictures, you have to connect to a printer or to a laptop or desktop to print and view the pictures. The cell phone has more functions for example, on a cell phone you are able to email the pictures to other phones or you can upload them to a website directly from the phone.

The down side is that you can only email the pictures to a person that is using your cell phone carrier. For real estate salesmen this is a great feature to have on the cell phone, you can send the pictures to the real estate website or to a client.

The next thing, you should know is that, for every picture that you do take, there is a cost, picture taking is not free. Some carriers have plans for as little as twenty dollars a month for unlimited pictures. Check with your local phone carrier and see what plans they offer. Sometimes they run specials.

Don’t expect to get the most professional pictures from a cell phone camera as you would a digital camera. The camera works for what it is, nothing takes a picture better than a 5 MP camera than a one or two MP. You can make do with what you got but to ensure a great photo, use a regular digital camera.

Last thing you should know is that the reason why you bought the camera phone is for the phone part first and the camera part as a bonus option. It would be cool to have a camera phone and that is why you probably bought it.
